IBM has launched a data prep solution designed to help clients improve their DataOps processes so they can have data ready for AI more quickly and efficiently. Jointly developed with data prep software provider Trifacta, the new InfoSphere solution is engineered to work in conjunction with clients' existing data environments, including data lakes.

MarkLogic Corporation, a data platform provider for simplifying data integration, announced that MarkLogic Data Hub Service has completed the Service Organization Controls 2 (SOC 2) Type II audit as certified by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). MarkLogic is already a secure modern database and the only one to carry a Common Criteria security certification.

Oracle has introduced the new Autonomous Database Dedicated service to provide customers with more control for their most mission-critical workloads. "Our Autonomous Database Dedicated service eliminates the concerns enterprise customers previously had about security, isolation, and operational policies when moving to cloud," said Juan Loaiza, executive vice president, Mission-Critical Database Technologies, Oracle.

Oracle recently announced fiscal 2019 Q4 results and fiscal 2019 full year results. "In Q4, our non-GAAP operating income grew 7% in constant currency—which drove EPS well above the high end of my guidance," said Oracle CEO Safra Catz. "Our high-margin Fusion and NetSuite cloud applications businesses are growing rapidly, while we downsize our low-margin legacy hardware business. The net result of this shift away from commodity hardware to cloud applications was a Q4 non-GAAP operating margin of 47%, the highest we've seen in 5 years."

EnterpriseDB has been acquired by Great Hill Partners, a private equity firm. Financial terms of the private transaction were not disclosed. "This acquisition comes at a time when the Postgres market is exploding," said Ed Boyajian, president and CEO of EnterpriseDB. Michael Stonebraker, a pioneer in database technology and original architect of what is now Postgres, has been named technical advisor; and database expert and entrepreneur Andy Palmer has been named to the board of directors.
