ScaleArc, a provider of database load balancing software, has announced support for automatic cache invalidation, providing a transparent ACID-compliant caching mechanism for dynamic data. The ScaleArc software tracks data changes to invalidate a cache entry, ensuring that outdated data is not served for Oracle and MySQL, as well as SQL Server database environments.

Datameer, an end-to-end big data analytics vendor, is partnering with Tableau to enable their mutual customers to move between platforms to analyze and visualize data. This one-click-bridge between solutions will allow customers to leverage Hadoop to integrate, prepare, and analyze all of their structured and unstructured data in Datameer and, when needed, automatically export it to either Tableau Desktop or Tableau Server to augment their traditional reporting and visual discovery capabilities on highly aggregated, structured data.

Oracle announced that fiscal 2015 Q3 total revenues were unchanged at $9.3 billion. Without the currency headwinds caused by the strengthening of the U.S. dollar, the company said total revenues would have been up 6% as measured in constant currency. "Oracle now has a cloud revenue run rate of well over $2 billion a year. We are already the world's second largest SaaS and PaaS company," said Oracle chairman and CTO Larry Ellison during a conference call discussing Oracle's third quarter financial results.

Oracle Linux images are now available on the Docker Hub Registry, a repository for Docker-based components, including applications and operating systems. Oracle Linux joins MySQL, which is already on Docker Hub and has been downloaded millions of times.
