Kore Technologies, a provider of enterprise integration and eCommerce Web solutions for MultiValue and Microsoft SQL Server databases, has launched Kourier Integrator: U2 Edition - Release 3.1. "What Kore offers is really an end to end solution for ETL - for moving data from U2 into SQL Server. It is a complete environment designed to do just that," Keith Lambert, vice president of marketing and business development at Kore Technologies, tells DBTA. "We try to make moving data from U2 to SQL very easy and straightforward for customers. We spent a lot of time making this easy for customers to use from start to finish," adds Mark Dobransky, managing partner at Kore Technologies.

Revelation Software is in the final stages of releasing OpenInsight Development Suite 9.3.2 to beta testers. This interim release includes both enhancements and fixes in a range of areas, Robert Catalano, director of sales at Revelation, tells DBTA. The new release adds the ability to generate dynamic dictionaries on the fly from the Banded Report Writer. In addition, O4W will be updated from 1.3 to 1.4 and will include an enhanced PHP interface to provide better performance.

Rocket U2 has announced the general availability of a SaaS license offering that gives partners the flexibility to private host their applications and offer them on a subscription basis. In addition, the initial version of U2 Toolkit for .NET (U2NETDK) was recently released, providing a .NET platform for U2 that combines an integrated ADO.NET provider for the U2 databases, LINQ to Entity, and the native UniObjects for .NET API.

With a 100% Java-driven architecture and browser-based interface, Informer Dashboards allow organizations to visualize real-time data from multiple sources on one screen to quickly identify actionable information and key trends. "Informer Dashboards is a completely new module that we have built from the ground up that allows customers to combine data that they pull from their own transactional systems by way of mostly Informer reports, as well as from non-JDBC, or non-SQL, or non-MultiValue data by way of web services or any other protocol, and bring this data into a dashboarding environment that in turn allows them to visualize that same data in a variety of ways," Brad Leupen, Entrinsik CTO tells DBTA.

Earlier this month, Rocket U2 kicked off U2 University in Denver with the first-ever Rocket Day. "We had over 150 people attend the keynote session and business unit overviews before splitting into the three separate technical tracts and two hands-on lab sessions held simultaneously. We released the new U2 Toolkit for .NET (U2NETDK) the Friday prior to the event, and had two very well-attended sessions on this new offering," notes Susie Siegesmund, vice president and general manager, U2 Brand, Rocket Software.

Sharon Shelton, vice president of marketing at Entrinsik, showcases Hawaii Human Resources (HiHR), a company using HRPyramid and Entrinsik Informer to help provide customized HR solutions to nearly 250 clients, in a new blog post this month on the Entrinsik website. Prior to purchasing Informer, HIHR was limited to the stock reports and unable to extract the specific data needed for internal and external reporting purposes, Shelton explains. But, since deploying Informer, HiHR has created almost 200 reports, including basic census, 401K reporting, and code file listings, and the company also makes heavy use of more advanced Informer functionality, such as Live Excel.

Rocket U2 has announced UniData 7.3. The first major UniData release since the U2 group was acquired by Rocket Software from IBM, UniData 7.3 represents over a year of work on a combination of development and QA. The new release delivers U2 Dynamic Objects (UDO), which enables an easier way to exchange data with web services and further extends the value of a UniData application. UDO also allows users to easily provide or consume data in JSON format. In addition, replication with External Database Access (EDA) can be used to replicate data to a SQL database on the same server.

Clinical Data Management (CDM) is a company headquartered in Colorado that provides clinical information database software, enabling medical institutions to report and compile data on patient care. A longtime user of Revelation Software, dating back to Revelation G and continuing through OpenInsight, CDM was pleased with both the quality of the products and the service from Revelation. However, CDM had come to realize it needed to provide a web interface for data entry to better support its customers and also stay current with evolving technology requirements. In addition, the dates have been finalized for U2 University, with the U.S. event taking place in downtown Denver May 8 to May 10, followed by the U.K. event from June 26 to 28, and the Australia event scheduled for August 14 to 16.

The release of OpenInsight 9.3, the next version of Revelation Software's flagship product, is now imminent, and includes many new features eagerly awaited by Revelation customers. On track to be generally available by the end of the year, Robert Catalano, director of sales at Revelation, says that data encryption is among the major new components in OpenInsight 9.3. "Data encryption will be a key component that will be built into the database. It is data encryption at rest and that means that you can specify tables and fields that are sitting in on your disk drive and that data will be encrypted."
